Seventy-Five Years in Business

Party Planning Basics – Begin planning your party 4-5 weeks in advance allowing plenty of time for making online purchases, getting the food ready and enlisting friends and family members for help.  Pick a theme, whether it’s a princess, pirate, or simply your favorite colors make sure you pick a theme and try to stick with it.  This will also make purchasing your supplies easier.

Food – Try to have a buffet style table of food as this helps keep your guests relaxed because they can socialize and eat at the same time.  Keep the buffet menu tasty but simple.  Foods such as sandwiches, hot dogs, pizza, burgers, fried chicken, salads, bread, beverages and of course desserts such as cupcakes and cookies are great birthday party foods.  Of course you can still go with a certain theme type food just make sure you offer more than one thing and don’t forget the sweets because we all know how much kids like them.

Party Supplies – When it comes to party supplies you will need to take into account the number of guests invited and then purchase your supplies accordingly.  Next, you will need to remember your theme and then go for it.  The recommended party supplies are:

Plates - Both dinner and dessert plates are good to have.

Napkins – These come in a variety of sizes but a good rule is to have at least two per person.

Cups - Again there are a variety of sizes but make sure you don’t forget these.

Balloons - Most themes have their own style balloons but if not just make sure to get some brightly colored balloons that fit in with your theme.

Invitations – These are a necessity so people remember the party.

Thank You Notes – I like to personally thank everybody that showed up at the party.

Other party supplies include streamers, hanging decorations, candles, piñatas, hats, signs, photo albums and so on and so forth.  One thing you need to keep in mind is if you order balloons you may want to order a disposable helium tank so you don’t have to rent one locally.

Games -   Children love games and  have tons of fun with games like Pin the tail on the Donkey, breaking Piñatas, Musical chairs and you can even have a mystery treasure hunt for your small guests to enjoy.  Nobody enjoys losing so make sure all of your guests end up with some sort of prize and try to include all of the guests in the games.
